so here it goes.......

Wow...! Who would have thought there would be so many decisions to make in setting up a blog! Font size, background layout, colours, title, subtitles and the list goes on. Making decisions is something I don't normally struggle with, but I think I must have spent nearly an hour weighing up whether to go with a more professional looking background or something which says a bit more about me. In the end instead of going for the more streamlined look, I've gone for this 'I doodled on the page' look. Why you may ask?! Well, whenever I go to meetings or conferences, my trusty note book comes along with me (even though I do have a twitter and facebook account and my lovely laptop, I still love the feel of the good old fashioned pen and paper). I ponder on what's been said, jot things down and then I get back to my desk or serving on the library floor and all the other demands of work come crashing around me. And my reflections....what happens to them? Well if I'm very efficient they get sifted through and actioned that day or the next, but what normally happens (I'm ashamed to say) is that they could stay there for a week a two (and occasionally up to a month) until I find that rare moment of peace to go through my thoughts and notes and pull out the wheat from the chaff. I was encouraged during my chartership process to start a blog and use it as a reflection tool, but I was a bit nervous about putting my 'thoughts' out there into the unknown where other people could see them. However, since I regularly conduct taster sessions with the public about the delight of web 2.0 I thought it was about time to give it a whirl myself and the CPD 23 things has given me the reason to do it. So here goes.....this will be my notepad and where my doodles will be happening for while....and who knows, it may be the demise of my trusty notepad.....!
